Description
Set of 1970s magazines with 4 paranormal/historical articles by John C. Sherwood We offer a set of four paranormal magazines from the period 1975-1977 featuring articles written by the owner, John C. Sherwood. All these unusual publications were issued during an historic time of public curiosity about strange events and phenomena. All these issues are out of print and the magazines themselves no longer are produced; as such, they are collectors' items representing an unusual time in U.S. publication history. The copies offered are extraneous to our collection and are as follows: — OCCULT for January 1975, featuring Sherwood’s article “Whatever Happened to Haunted Houses?” Other article titles are “How to Catch a Poltergeist,” “The World’s Most Mysterious Manuscript,” “Breathing Color Can Change Your Life,” etc. (98 pp.) — OCCULT for March 1975, featuring Sherwood’s article “The Ancient Order of Druids’ Chosen Chief.” Other article titles are “The Unsolved Mystery of Ararat,” “Controlling Your Future Through Biorhythms,” “How to Avoid Psychic Fraud,” etc. (98 pp.) — PSYCHIC WORLD for May 1976, featuring Sherwood’s article “The Legendary Heritage of Glastonbury.” Other article titles are “A Psychic Dream Could Save Your Life,” “Parapsychology in Today’s Education,” “Mind Expansion through Magic and Meditation,” etc. (98 pp.) — BEYOND REALITY for August 1977 (large format), featuring Sherwood’s article “The Venerable Bede: Occult Historian.” Other article titles are “Sex and Mysticism,” “The Fire Dragons of Legend,” “The CIA UFO Coverup,” etc. (66 pp.) NOTE: Each of these articles stemmed from the author's personal travels in the United Kingdom in 1974. Please inspect the photos to assess the condition and contents of these magazines, which are in very good condition despite being published between 1975 and 1977. All are glue- or staple-bound as they were originally. Despite some yellowing, the pages are in excellent shape and all magazines are securely bound and firm. If the winning bidder requests, the author will provide a *signed* letter of thanks for inclusion with the publications. John C. Sherwood is a professional American journalist, public-relations representative and freelance writer whose career began in the 1960s. Owner's statement: As I continue to downsize my collection of books, I’m focusing on unusual phenomena, occultism, magic and related subjects. I’ve offered several difficult-to-find items on eBay in the hope of reaching a broader group of collectors. It’s possible that some may be of interest to you.
